Do what?

Something on your “to-do list” that never gets done.

Personally, in my humble opinion, to-do lists are overrated. And I don’t use them anymore.

Instead, I make task lists for the task I’m on that day. For example, I know that my car needs an oil change. Normally in the past I would begin a list of things I must take care of by putting, “Change oil in car” somewhere near the top of the list. But here’s the thing, most of those to-do lists never got finished.

The lists would sometimes be longer than others, but invariably, I knew then, but I know better now, I’m not going to finish everything on that list today.

Now I call it “today list” and only put on that list exactly what I need to accomplish today. While I know the car oil needs changing, and that is not going to change, and it is not going to change itself, realistically it is just not something that is going to get done today.

But re-examining the concept of the to-do list into a today list, I have de-cluttered and reduced the stress in my life. I no longer rush from one menial task to another trying to get “finished” so I can enjoy life. Instead, I enjoy life while doing the things that are most important to do today.

I’ll probably get my oil changed on Monday, but… we’ll see. Because today is Saturday, and I’m doing Saturday things today.

Rotisserie delight…

What’s your favorite thing to cook?

A few years ago we remodeled our patio area. Included in the project was a new gas grill, small refrigerator, and grilling utensil storage. We were glad the builder of the home took the time to put a gas connection right where we needed it.

One of the features of this grill was a rotisserie attachment you can see pictured here top right of the grill. The plug on the wall provides power to the unit so it rotates, nice and slowly turning the meat as it cooks.

Here is the prep for a nice pork tenderloin I cooked using this unit.

Serve it with fried apples and onions and you have a feast!

One all time favorite, you can purchase at any supermarket is rotisserie chicken. But when you have your own rotisserie it is so much more fun to take it right off the spit, cut it up, and serve it piping hot!

Enjoy! We certainly do!
