If you could start a new business right now, what would it be?

My wife and I were on vacation once in central Texas at a well-known golf resort when we came upon an 18 hole putting course. It was one of the most fun times we’ve had on a trip together. We laughed, we cursed, we shook our heads in frustration, but overall, the memory is still fresh in my mind.
If money were no object, and I could find the right property, I would build an 18 hole putting course like that one, which included par 5’s, par 4’s, and par 3’s. But there were a few things I would change. For instance some of the fairways were very worn over time, and not well kept. So, naturally I would work with a company who would not only build the course, but also include an on-going maintenance contract of whatever it is they build.
I miss the old putt-putt courses I grew up with. Today Putt-Putt Fun Centers still exist and often include Arcades, Go-kart, Bumper boats, Laser tag, and batting cages. However, I’m a purist, so the venture I would build would include only golf. On the other hand, I would also probably build a pitching wedge driving range (100-125 yards), and have a family eatery complex. I don’t know if I would design it with a “back to the past” diner atmosphere, or a food-truck atmosphere, which seems to be the rage these days.
All in all, my Fun Time Golf Center would be family oriented, and priced in the range for all families to enjoy. After all, if money is no object, I might even reduce the price so much, people couldn’t resist coming from all over the state… just to play my putting golf course.
It’s a dream, so why not dream big? Just saying.
