Just a word about this blog…

A blog is a blog is a blog… pictures, links, ideas and opinions, nothing more.  You don’t have to like what you see here.  You don’t have to agree with everything, I doubt seriously that you will.
But if you find a challenging thought, a humorous quote, an engaging idea, or something else of value, then I will have been successful in the establishment of this blog.  Thanks for coming my way, enjoy!

  1. I enjoyed reading “Through a glass darkly”. When I started reading, although I recognized the biblical allusion in your title, I thought it was just an interesting piece about artifacts. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the turn it took (I avoided using the word (“twist”). While reading, it came to mind that any form of darkness in God can only reveal light, and no one expresses it better than David, “Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee, but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.” (Psalm 139:12,KJV). Conversely, light in Satan’s kingdom is only a veneer for what is essentially darkness, hopelessness, and eternal death.

    1. Thanks for reading! And yes, thanks for your insightful comment too. I haven’t used the King James in many years but sometimes it just speaks to me from my youth. Your observations of light and darkness are evidence of the truth within you. May God bless you for your faithfulness!

  4. “Harmonize” although I have never been part of a barbershop quartet (or whatever the female version is called) I would guess being able to harmonize takes focus on your own part. Everyone seems to like to sing the melody, even though some of us might be better suited, because we are gifted at playing percussion by snapping our fingers. Thanks for your post. Being able to harmonize first requires trusting we aren’t all hardwired for melody and appreciatin what we were hardwired for by The Conductor of this sometimes crazy symphony.

    BTW, my favorite music harmony vision happened in a small old Episcopal church where you went forward to receive the host as the choir faced you in rows. You walked the line before them on both my right and left sides. Sometimes you could feel their music on and in your chest as you walked forward. I picture heaven and it’s choirs will be like that!

  5. I have watched, listened, and enjoyed you greatly for quite some time. One of the songs you sing is “I’m a CHRISTIAN,” so am I. At my church last CHRISTMAS, we had a party where we were all supposed to bring a pretty wrapped present for the “Pass Right, Pass Left Game.” I ended up with this little lantern. It has lights in it that are probably smaller than the smallest CHRISTMAS Tree’s Lights. Every time I light it, I think of you singing, “This little light of mine!!” (And, I love the phrase, “You son of a Baptist Preacher!!”).

    1. Dawn, I am truly humbled by your comments. And while I will continue posting articles on this blog. My time of teaching is drawing to a close. We have three more lessons in our study of Philippians. After that I am just waiting on God to show me where to go next, and what he has waiting for me out there … somewhere. Thanks again for these inspiring words.
